Frontiers of Nonlinear Physics. The 2nd International Conference «Frontiers of Nonlinear Physics» (FNP 2004) was a multi-topical meeting which was held on board a river boat Georgy Zhukov cruising from Nizhny Novgorod to St.-Petersburg, Russia, from July 5 to July 12, 2004. FNP 2004 was organized by the Institute of Applied Physics, RAS, Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics, RAS, and the University of Nizhny Novgorod. The conference scope was focused on state-of-the-art in the field, including general theory of nonlinear waves, nonlinear phenomena in fluids and in the upper ocean, nonlinear processes in plasma and laser-plasma interactions, high-field optics, and quantum control, gamma-ray optics and quantum nucleonics, nonlinear coherent phenomena in quantum systems, nonlinear phenomena in astrophysics, and nonlinear sound. This volume presents most of the conference papers, both invited and contributed ones, which are chaptered in general accordance with the sectional topics.
