Gyroresonance devices

In terms of their continuous-wave and average power, as well as the energy of radiation in long pulses, gyrodevices surpass other sources of millimeter- and submillimeter-wave radiation significantly (by several orders of magnitude). Gyrodevices opened the door to electron-cyclotron heating in controlled fusion (CF) facilities, creation of high-power millimeter-wave radar systems, high-temperature material processing with millimeter waves, diagnostics of various media, and other applications.
Like well-known devices with straight electron beams, various modifications of gyrodevices can be implemented. For actual applications, both generators (gyrotron and gyro-BWO) and amplifiers (gyroklystron and gyro-TWT) have been developed.
