Born on April 30, 1956 in the city of Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod).
Married, has a son.
Education:
1978 Radiophysical Faculty of the Gorky State University, specialty “Radio Physics and Electronics”.
1983 Correspondence postgraduate education.
1985 Ph. D. theses “Relativistic electron microwave oscillators of the millimeter wavelength range with highly selective electrodynamic systems”, supervised by Academician A. V. Gaponov-Grekhov.
2002 г. Doctoral theses “Formation, transformation, and transmission of radiation in oversize electrodynamic systems”.
Professional interests:
Gyrotrons, new types of high-power electronic microwave devices, measurement methods, transformations of field structures of quasi-optical wave beams, antennas and high-power short-wave radiation transmission lines

IAP: trainee researcher, junior scientist, scientist, senior scientist, head of laboratory, head of department, Deputy Director for Science from 1978 to 2017.
